Dear Friends of the All Species Foundation,
Welcome to our Spring 2002 Report. You are receiving this because
you requested to be kept up to date relative to the All Species
Foundation and our efforts. We value your support.
In summary, it's been an intense first quarter! Starting with my arrival
on January 1st as CEO, the pace has been non-stop in order to keep up
with the interest that ALL has generated.
From the Science perspective, an essential first-step has been taken
getting the Science Board developed, engaged, and actively involved in
helping to steer a course for ALL. We are in the midst of the
development of a true strategic vision for HOW we are going to build the
organization and help make inventory and discovery happen. We are in the
early stages of discussions with key international foundations and
partners to help with the "building capacity" component of inventory
efforts which will happen in areas of major biodiversity. These
partnerships will give us a direct action plan to begin to grid the
Earth's biodiversity.
In addition, our All Species Search Engine is creating a stir and that
lets me know we are on track. It currently has more than 1 million entries!
From the Fundraising/Development perspective, we are in the initial
funding stages with various philanthropists, foundations, and corporate
sponsors, who have expressed interest in advancing the concept of ALL
Species. If you are inclined to help advance our organization we would
welcome your help. If you personally know of an individual or
organization who might be interested to contribute to ALL, feel free to
download our Letter of Intent and other organization background
materials and circulate on our behalf. Or you can send your funding
suggestion to funding@all-species.org.
We've got new people involved with the organization at all levels and
they are bringing terrific resources and energy to our tasks. Public
Relations and Outreach is storming along with significant buzz being
created by ALL.
We do hope you found this Quarterly Report of interest. We would
appreciate your candid feedback: simply click here to comment.
