Business Plan Development
The staff and Governing Board have worked together to develop a strategic Start-up Phase-
Business Plan focused on ALL's Start-up Phase (2001-2004) and lay the foundation for creating a
global science initiative. We have distilled the key highlights of our 50-page business plan
titled Start-up Phase in this quarterly report by providing a brief overview of the key
initiatives along with estimated project costs for
2003. The following diagram is a visual that illustrates the key initiatives outlined in the Start-up Phase- Business Plan.
To help us break up the enormous challenge of our 25-year goal -"discovering all life on earth" we segmented the project into four, arbitrary but distinct, phases in the business plan:
If you are interested in reviewing the Start-up Phase- Business Plan, it is available on-line with the following caveats.
First, this is a work in progress and we expect to revisit the document in Q1 2003 when the status of ALL's financial
resources is clearer. The Board of Directors and Science Board are in the process of providing feedback. Secondly, we
request that you let us know if you would like to circulate the document, so that we can provide the most current working
draft.
